This blower was in my bother's now totaled Alero. The blower itself didn't take a hit, but one of the cooling fans caught the bypass valve and laid a nipple thingy flat. Is the bypass valve serviceable? I've seen similar valves on the M90s so would it just be a universal eaton design? What is the purpose of those nipples? Is it safe to run the blower like that?
Thanks!
Also interested in knowing the answer, can you order a new one?
Hard to tell from that picture how much if any damage was done to the bypass valve but that nipple in the blower housing (I think) goes to the MAP sensor. If it's broke you could drill and tap the case for a brass barb fitting from the hardware store.
You should be able to get the valve from GM #88960487/actuator,supercharger by-pass is what the manual says.

"In the entire history of man the only stupid questions are the ones that don't get asked"
Well I inquired on the part and it's discontinued. Crap. The actuator is busted off the mount and one of the hose fittings is snapped off too. I'll get in touch with eaton and see if they can help I guess.
My actuator assembly broke in shipment from pace performance last spring....called them and they sent me a new one.
You can as a last resort also run short self-tapping screws into the bypass where the plastic pieces were melted originally. Unfortunately I had to do this, but the funny part was it worked amazingly.
The barb could be welded back on could it not?
Well the actuator is shot. It won't air so there must be split in the boot somewhere. I called Stiegemeier and gave the gentleman the application and GM part number, but he didn't sound to confident in finding one. If he can't find one, what are my other options?
