Hey guys,
I am gathering parts for my 2200 turbo setup and have a couple of questions.
1. What are the limits of the stock ignition (namely the coils)?
2. What are people doing about the FPR? Will the factory one work, or do I have to get an boost referenced AFPR?
I am planning on getting some 50 pounders and HP Tuners, so I am not gonna get a rising-rate FMU.
I would like to do this project on the cheaper side, so if people are swapping in FPRs or coils from other vehicles, that would be cool.

Stock coils will be fine. As for a FPR, Aeromotive adjustable works great.

if your looking to save money on a turbo setup, I still have my RD fabs stainless turbo header-(new), t3/t4e turbo-(no shaft play), 1g dsm bov, and intercooler I'd part with for $750 you pay shipping an paypal fee. Hell I'll throw in crane rocker studs for the roller rocker swap as well.
The stock ignition coils would be fine, but I upgraded mine to MSD because red looks nicer under the hood.
But remember your going to need to mess around with the timing if you use HPT
The FPR will be fine, but I would not go with an FMU it you are getting a tune, If anything I would do a 1-to-1 rising rate AFPR.
I make and sell a stock FRP bypass block for $75. It allows you to remove the stock FPR and bolt this in its place and it has 1/2" NPT port for a fitting and then you run your line off of it to the AFPR. Works great and looks great. Its 6061 aluminum.
I also have a set of SBC lifter for the hybrid lifter swap! Looking for $120 shipped.
Thanks for all the help guys, I really appreciate it. I actually already have most of the stuff for the swap, but thanks for all of the offers.
Looks like it is gonna be stock coils and FPR for me then!
