Super 60

Hey all, I have a 00 LD9 with a Garrett 60 trim and a .58 AR turbo, 2.5' IC pipes and a 2.5' down pipe and 2.25' then straight pipe till the muffler and a light weight under drive pulley i donno if that matters anyway I believe its a super 60 maybe not from what iv been reading lately but I was just wondering what ya'll are making for power with 10 psi on them turbos and if that is to much for a daily driver with stock internals. I am running 5psi now, its working good but ya know how ya gotta always push it. It still needs more tuning but when does that ever end, I was just more or less wondering whats a safe psi to run on stock entrails and a lightweight under drive pulley for a as reliable as you can get for a boosted car.
Thanks
Kyle

You can run as high as 10psi or a little more if you wish. "Safe" is all in the tuning to me.

i agree 100% safe is all in the tuning BUT if i try to run 20 psi i don't think tuning is gonna help much there lol. Anyone else have any input? i searched and not a whole lot came up so this would a great time to chime in so it will be there when we try to search.

What hp does 10psi put you at? Is that hp still in the "safe zone" for a stock LD9?

Answer those 2 questions and you will get your answer.

its an old concept. time for something new to take the reigns. - Z yaaaa

If your worried about blowing your motor or its a DD I would not keep upping the boost. If your not prepared for something to happen then stick to body and suspension mods. Sh!t happens sometimes and motors fail with no boost. Just got to deal with it. Not trying to be a jerk either.

LD9 F/I Top 10
Standing Name HP TQ Dyno Type
1 Brandon Fetter 551.20 474.90 Dynojet Turbo LD9 @
2 Lafngas 535whp 481wtq Turbo LD9 @ 25psi and pump gas
3 JR Marks 517whp 500wtq Turbo LD9 @ 25psi and pump gas
4 Spyhunter 432.00 424.00 Mustang Turbo LD9 @ 15 psi
5 Brian aka SpeedRacerZ 422.00 Dynojet Turbo LD9 @ 15 psi
6 john317( AKA Gary the Old guy ) 417.5 339.70 Dynodynamics Turbo LD9 @ 20 psi
7 Mike Karas 410.00 Turbo LD9
8 Karo 354.00 Dynojet LD9 w/ 75 shot
9 David Ingram (Whitecavy) 303.00 286.00 Dynojet Turbo LD9 @ 15 psi
10 Burnout 303.00 269.00 SuperFlow Turbo LD9 @ 12 psi

6-8 PSI on a stock LD9 can make low 200whp to 240ish, normally below 200whp

10-12 PSI on stock LD9 can make 260whp to 300ish, normally below 250whp.

Some where after 8psi is when a lot of people have blown up their stock LD9s. There are a few people running 10-12psi on stock LD9s, but they are M45 supercharged cars, and normally will make no more than 210whp.

A well tuned and maintained LD9 should hold together at 10psi.

Kyle Tinkles was basically trying to tell you that you shouldn't always rely on someone to tell you because who knows if it that person knows what they are talking about. If you looked at a compressor map to see what the turbo you wanted to use flowed at that level you'd have a rough Idea of what power range you would be at. Then you would know if thats beyond what stock internals normally handle on a good tune with a little searching.

But goodluck man I'm sure you'll enjoy the boost.

Ran 10-12 psi all last year on a stock 150k ld9. Would be running the same setup this year but one of my injectors clogged and leaned out that cylinder and popped the piston. That was on lsj injectors though, it would never make it on stock injectors. Best thing you can do is get the sc reflash and tune from there.
