well i was all happy that my O2 sim had come in. i got my boost controller installed and was ready for the dyno. they got it all strapped in and he asked me what my normal running temp. was and i told him so he let it warm up. he gave it some test pulls and then reported to me that i was running way to lean to even try to dyno it. so now they are going to install my SAFC and give me a better fuel pump and try to tune it so get the a/f ratio a little better. i have a 2000 cavy. ohv with a T3 60 trim turbo, it is intercooled running on stock boost at this time with a VORTECH FMU 10:1, and at night when i run it in boost for a while i notice that my manifold glows bright orange. if any one has any ideas please let me know.
like he said man you are running way lean. What fuel mods do you have? Better be carefull before you blow that engine...
no fuel mods but the VORTECH FMU thats it but i am going to be adding a SAFC and a better fuel pump
Personally with a safc i would have gone with a cartech adjustable FMU, vette AFPR, walbo fuel pump, and dont forget larger injectors...
You need bigger injectors.
At least for the cheapest option go with 24# 2.4 injectors will work up to 6-7 psi on your 2000 2.2.
Or get a fuel pump only. then if you want to run around 10psi, which you will, just upgrade the injectors to around 30lb. Anything bigger than these, the computer cannot compensate for. You would then need an adjustable fuel pressure regulator to lower the pressure at idle. Or else it will run rough on idle and way rich until you hit boost. Ford racing has some high impedence 30#lb injectors. See them on ebay regularly.
Good Luck

isn't the cartech fmu also an afpr?
ive been told it has something to adjust base line pressure but ive also heard that its not that sweet. Stay with the cartech FMU but get an adjustable fpr
I would say go with bigger injectors, Emanage, and probably a fuel pump.
275hp & 306tq - 1999 2.2 ohv
13.2 @ 108 mph
-1996 2.4 liter + Turbo + Built motor + Torco + More boost = Lots o' Power
-2000 Mustang GT + 2004 Cobra motor, Whipple 2.3 supercharger,
built rear-end,Dodge Viper spec T56 6 speed, bolt-ons = wheelies at the track!!!!!
I don't get it, major ran 6lbs with an 8:1 fMU and only barely started to lean out at the top.
If anything I thought the 2200 would have larger injectors then the 2.2.
is it his fuel pump thats not keeping up?
(yes, major was running 8:1 compression, I know)
