How would the car act if the clutch disc was in backwards?I am having clutch/transmission problems and I am trying to cover all my base's before I rip the transmission back out.

Actually they can, and its really easy to screw up.
It causes some really wierd stuff, like clutch slipping, odd engagement, things like that. Dugan (SpeedRacerZ's brother) accidentally put his in backwards if I remember right.

let me explain my problem.
The clutch is engaged all the time.I push the pedal down and it doesn't disengage the clutch.I have bled the clutch numerous times.I just put a new clutch in on saturday and I am trying to figure out what may be the cause of this.I installed a new clutch master cylinder about 5 months ago.The clutch,pressure plate and throw-out bearing are all new.The pedal is flimsy and offers no resistance.
Any suggestions???

Its in backward dude, i had the same problem with an escort. Exact same as you describe it. Clutch disc is in backward.......

i'm having the same problem as you are right now..but i'm 100% sure that clutch is in correctly, i double checked it like 3 times. i've bled the clutch for hours and no difference..just windering if you found the solution to your problem. i think theres still air in my master cyl
the clutch usually says flywheel side on it, idoit proof, or so we may think

i know..but when you have such a wacked problem like i'm having you can't help but wonder..even though you were 120% certain 5 mins ago but now have run out of ideas
I did fix my problem................. clutch was in backwards.And NO it didn't say "flywheel side".........lol
But I am gonna have to pull the transmission one more time to relace it.............I broke reverse.
