A friend is considering an Ecotec/4T40 swap into a 1996 sunfire with a dead 2.4/4T40 combo... Would I be correct to assume that the transmission mounts are the same and wouldn't require welding new ones? (we won't be using the old transmission... we're just wondering if the Ecotec/4T40 would bolt right in without a problem) Thanks for the help!

95-02 all auto trans mounts are the same

in 03-05 gm changed the part # for 1 side of the mount , i think it was the transmission side of the mount


if you get the mount from the eco trans it will bolt to the frame
