Merging onto the highway tonight. Had the car at redline. Seemed to stay there forever. Then I heard a loud metal noise. (Hard to describe.) Just then the tranny is growling louder than usual. Get off at the next exit. It sounds horrible. Limp the damn thing home. Does anyone have any opinions? Should I get a rebuilt one or just have them fix what's wrong? Thanks in advance.
