fiero tranny = cavy tranny?
Monday, June 20, 2005 9:40 PM
i was looking at a 86 fiero gt with the 2.8 v-6 4-speed and i was wondering if any of the cavy trannys would fit on that motor. the tranny looks alot like mine. it only has 79k on it and the motor runs great. the lady only wants 300 for the car bc of the tranny and surpisingly, the body and interior r in great shape too. or if neone knows of ne fireo forms so i can the find a tranny for it. thanks

yup, the Getrag from the 00+ cavalier's will fit the fieros if you use the kit from Rodney Dickmans fiero accessories (http://www.rodneydickman.com/). You have to split the case to put a different shift lever on it (the arm the shift and select cables attach to). The one on the Cavalier's application faces the wrong way. It's not a direct swap, but close.

www.fiero.nl will have more info.
