car: this is 98 2.4. car was not going into or missing gears. and then the pedal went to the floor. we discovered that the Master cylinder had broken off the fire wall and was disconnected from the slave cylinder. we replaced the master cylinder and reconnected the pedal. the end of the hose from the MS cannot be locked into place with the SC the black connector will not slide, either forward or backward. it simply will not move. when reading in the book I was under the impression that it would work similar to a quick disconnect like on air tools. wrong !! will the whole SC need to be replaced or can that connector be bought separately? is there a trick to making it move? three people tried it, its like it is frozen. also why would the hose be disconnected on its own between the two? the bushing was mostly intake but the part that is flat like a washer was chipped off in a section. I have some replacements for it though.
