what/where is this? Car threw code 1870 which is the TCM, but i have no idea where/what it is... gonna grab a haynes/chilton tomorrow, but need to know if it's okay for the wife to take the car to work- 45min each way in the boonies....

any help is appreciated, as i'm clueless...

DTC P1870 Transmission component slipping

When my cav was throwing that code i had no problem driving. the only thing that i experienced was my cav having trouble deciding whether to stay in 2nd or 3rd at around 45 mph. i ended up taking it to the dealership and $2000 later, i had a new 3t40 tranny, new pcm, new torque converter, new torque converter clutch and a few other things. they said that my problem had been caused by my pcm shorting out. hopefully your problem is no where near as bad as mine was.

well, the wife took the car to work today and she came back, now it sounds supercharged.... just had surgery on my arm, so i'm gonna have to pay someone to do it, not looking forward to this....
