good setting to drive with the B&M shift kit?
Thursday, July 07, 2005 11:42 PM
i know that there are 3 settings on the B&M shift kit, 1 being stock, 2 being firm and 3 being race only.

i was wondering tho, i have a 96 z24 and would it be ok if i drove around on setting 2 as commute? i have heard that setting 3 is too firm and it will eventually destroy your tranny. how is the middle setting tho?

thanks!

i believe its setup to only use the stage II setting for racing, or high speeds. for commuting just have it off or on stage I because it might damage the tranny over time. from what ive heard.

if you have it on stage 1 isn't that a stock setting? I may be wrong but whats the point then if its set at a stock setting.. I'm not educated in b&m i have a autotrans interceptor.
out of curosity is there local shops i.e. auto zone, o'rileys, advanced that carry either as a stock item? if anyone knows

i have never seen anything like this in auto shops for our cars. its cheap enough to order online..

but yeah, OFF is stock, setting 1 is firm (better then stock) and setting 2 is for racing only apparently.
