installed B&M short shifter, hard/grind into 2nd??
Saturday, October 08, 2005 8:03 PM
I installed my b&m short shifter into my '97 z24. But now i notice it's harder to place into 2nd. Also if i break the tires free in 1st then try and shift to 2nd, it'll either not go in gear at all till the rpm's come down..or it'll grind for a good 2secs then slide in gear.
Before I fitted the B&M short shifter into my car, I didn't have this problem....has anyone else had this kind of situation??

Readjust the cables. If that doesn't do anything to help, Align the synchros, 2-3-1-3-2, and then try to shift fast. If it still does it then you may have bad synchos.

Well that would be nice if i could adjust them, but there not adjustable. I don't think it's something with the transaxle. More a problem with the shifter installed, i'm just gonna tear it apart again and shave some more of the metal . They call for 5mm but i'll enlarge it to like 7mm or so
Ne-waz thanx for your help

mine did that for a bit too, but i think that it had to do with my leaking slave cylinder and the clutch not fully disengaging. It seems to be much better with the new clutch

There's no place like 127.0.0.1
