ok so I just finished my ecotec swap in my cavalier

the trans shifts fine, it doesn't jump out of gear, it isn't hard to get in gear, nothing like that at all

when I'm in gear at higher RPM, and letting the engine slow the car down, the trans grinds pretty bad

I can't hear it unless the window is up or unless I'm next to a concrete barrier with my window open

it seems to happen in 3rd, 4th, and 5th the most usually at higher RPM (3000 or higher)

but the weird thing is, the trans shifts fine... in fact it shifts perfect.

I can only think of the infamous getrag noise being the culprit, but I thought this was at parking lot speeds only? some insight would be appreciated...

I have a fidanza flywheel and spec stage 3 clutch btw... car's run 1000 miles already and like I said it shifts absolutely fine... there isn't grinding any other time, other than when letting the engine slow the car in gear... then it grinds


any ideas what this could be? I put in another 2 quarts of dexronIII fluid today and it didn't seem to help at all
