A light came on in my 96 Cavalier yesterday, it's red and it's like a box with a spout on top. Inside is an arrow pointing down toward some fluid. I put antifreeze and powersteering fluid in but the light is still on. Can someone tell me what this light means?
Check your oil! I think....by your description at least.

I got an oil change today so it's not that. My dad said that the sensor just might be screwed up because there is plenty of coolant in the line.
It's the coolant level warning light...it's in your owners manual, too
mine comes on when i start it up in the morn and go for a drive....

coolant. ive got the problem in my 97 Z24, sometimes the light will come on, only god knows where the stuff is goin but i just keep my level up well over the cold temp line and the light goes away.
this is a warning for 2 possible things...1 its a floating sensor so sometimes it can get stuck under heavy acceleration etc. 2 it means that you water pump is on its way out...at least thats what my car did...goodluck!
Deffinatly a stuck coolant sensor. Happens many many many many many times to all kind of cars. Just go out there and get violent with the overflow tank, and tap around the sensor. Adios folks
