thats fantastic news... another one broken, freakin A! stop scarring me! mine comes out tomorrow with a fidanza wheel and spec clutch

i cryo-treated my new fidenza flywheel, just to be on the safe side.
Contact Fidanza and see if they'll warranty it... there's a whole bad batch out there, that snap just as you described. There have been many others in your same situation, unfortunately. The good news is, the newer ones are apparently just fine...
thats good to hear... i cross my fingers i got a new batch lol... did they mention what was wrong? bad alum? grind it to thin? lol

i think some one needs to send their fly wheel to a metalurgist to get the type of aluminum and its specs checked out
if the grade isnt right , then get with the other and get them all checked , and if their grades arent right
then jump all over them
post pics if you can please

Yea, ummmm. I used to have a J-body...
i havent put mine in yet.but i got mine about 3 mo ago and its for the EcoTec.im realy thinking about not putting this in.
oh yeah and dose cryo-treateding them help?
will your flywheel work or a 2002 ecotec auto trany? if so how much you talking?
^ if you don't know that answer, don't modify your car before you start searching and reading. The auto tranny don't have a flywheel, they have a flexplate. to different things.

i got a hold of fidanza and they sent me a brand new one free it looks diff than the old fidanza i had in there. but its been it for 3 days now hope to god it doesnt happen agane. brand new stage 2 clutch and pressure plate and a 9.5'' flywheel from fidanza
I have one, but couldnt get my ACT Clutch to disengage very well with it, not sure if it was an installation issue, or if its the clutch or flywheel, or combo of both.

you wouldn't have pics of the differances would you? I have my fidanza chillin in my closet and I wonder how you can tell the difference between the " GOOD " and "BAD" batches.
ender- i have a act clutch and spec flywheel. not one issue. i have 40k miles on the clutch, and 15k miles on the flywheel ( swapped motor 15k miles ago and added the spec flywheel to the existing clutch. ).
i hope mine dont bust apart, that would suck.
so what happened when it busted? car just make a bunch of noise and you were unable to drive all of a sudden? anything else break?
i would hate for it to let go if was "driving" at higher speeds, or anyone of that matter.
pics or a part number of the new vs old would be good to have. are spec flywheels fidanza or do they make their own now? don't mean to thread jack here

as long as we are on the topic of flywheels, who makes the best and the lightest, i know spec, and finanza make one but what about act?? i have heard alot about the findanza ones going to hell but not much about the other two....... also what is their rough weight, cause if the spec is lighter, ill spend the extra money and save mself some head aches
many changes in the making

A couple of local machine shops around here, northeast ohio, I have been taking to lately say they will not deal with fidanza anymore, because they will do ANYTHING to cut costs. I guess they are VERY OPEN on materail specifications. They will accept anything untill it breaks then blam everything on the manufacturer. I'll see if one of the shops will let me take pictures of the flywheels they sent back to the shop. Two shops I have talked to said that Fidanza knew there was a problem and didn't want to change the design till more broke "in the field." Total B.S. in my oppion.
I see if I can get pictures.
