ok.
i have no idea if this has been asked before, i tried searching but nothing came up.
heres my problem!
when my tranny sees 4000rpm, in no matter what gear, it acts like its slipping and there is no acceleration and the engine rpm will go sky high untill i let off the gas and the rpm go under 3500!
now what the hell is wrong? do i need a new tranny? is it the Torque Converter Clutch Sileniod?
oh yeah, the fluid level is correct, that was the first thought i had, as to the problem, but it isnt!
this is on a 3speed tranny (3t40)

That is not idicative of a TCC problem. The TCC will not engauge till 40mph in third gear, which is controled by the solenoid.
The fluid level might be correct, but how many miles on the fluid?
Finally, the frictions and steels are probably just worn out, i.e., time for a rebuild. When I had a valve in the valve body hang up, it started slipping in the upper RPMs, then got progressively worse and at lower RPMs.
alright, thanks!
this just makes me want to do my tranny swap even faster! can't wait till this saturday when i pick up my parts car (another 96 cavalier with a blown engine, this one is a 4spd, cant complain, only paying $200 for it, lol!)
