Getrag Transmission question
Tuesday, September 12, 2006 5:58 PM
Well I have now an 01 Cavy 2200. I want to so a Eco swap maybe start of next year. Can or will my 2200 Getrag work with my 2.2 Eco I want to use. I just been hearing more about 2.4 getrags and this and that. I just want a straight yes or no.

Straight yes or no....

NO

The Eco has a different bolt pattern VS. the 2200 and 2.4.......

BUT other then the bell housing, they are the same transmission, all are F23 Getrag transmissions.

If your 2200 trans is in good shape, I *might* be interested in swapping it for the Eco Getrag I have here.

Well I bought the car just a few weeks ago with 73,000 miles on it. A mother of 2 had it before me. I don't feel anything wrong with. I do have a sound after I put the car in gear and let out the clutch. Been told it is the getrag sound and not to worry about it. Been told also that the Saturn fluid would stop or quiten that down. So the Eco's getrag uses the 2.4's getrag bolt pattern? Cause you said the 2200 and the 2.4 are different. I don't know if miss typed the 2.4 for the Eco 2.2 or what. Brake it down more if you could.

All three use the getrag, but what one is different.
2200
2.4
Eco
