mostly, im looking to find a place where i can order synchros for my 96. BUT if anyone can tell me what else may be the problem, please do.
as i was coming home from work this morning, i noticed that third was a little difficult shifting into from 2nd. 1-2 is fine, 3-4/4-3 is great, 4-5 no problems. if i take longer to shift from 2-3, it gots in not a problem. but if i shift at a normal rate/ quickly, it feels it doesnt want to go, but as the revs come down it does slip into gear. tranny doesnt whine, i just changed the fluid at 97000 m. with no metal shavings in old fluid. its not so bad that i cant force the tranny into gear if need be, but since i dont have to if i wait, i generally just let it slip in on its own. thx guys/gals

sounds like the syncro...... my getrag is doing the same thing into third.......
I believe you can get a kit, comes with springs, retainers, locker and syncro..... not positive though.....

New syncros are still available for the Isuzu ( because I have them in my tranny, lol ). My tranny shop found a master rebuild kit for mine. It has all new bearings, races and syncros. I couldn't find one with all the small parts though, so I cleaned and reused them.
