isuzu trans question..

so, this is kinda stupid i know, but i wanna be sure... the transmission from a 2.2L 96 would be the same as a trans from a 2.4L 98 right? since they're both manual and both the isuzu?

ya, i was a little hesitant... but i can only find two different 5 spd trans for the cavaliers, the getrag and the isuzu... so im kinda confused

o.. and i'd also like to know if theres any way to test the condition of the synchros etc without having the trans in a car (unlikely im guessing), because the guy is selling it for a friend and seems pretty clueless

Trannies are the same, but have a different bellhousing. So they won't interchange.

I guess to test the syncro's you could try running it through the gears. Other than that, not much I can say.

look if your needing a 5 speed for a2.2l ive got one that i just pulled out of my old car it has about 75,000 on the rebuild so its good to go and if ya want the flywheel and the cv shafts then 150.00 for all of it

no i need the one for a 2.4 lol, and theres only 2 i can find in BC up here and both have disgusting amounts of mileage and are being sold by idiots lol
