Like the title says I am having a lot of trouble removing my cv axles. I just changed out my trans with a used replacement that the differential happened to go out on also. I installed 2 brand new duralast cv axles with the trans. Now i need to get them out and I'm having a hell of a time. I noticed that on the new cv axles that the retainer clips expanded a little more than the original stock axles but didn't think much of it. the new ones installed pretty easily with a few taps of a mallet each. Now I'm using a pry-bar to get them out and they are not budging at all. is there any secret way to get them out? I don't care about damaging the trans i just don't want to hurt the axles.
Sometimes it works to rotate the axle while you apply and release tension from it. This will sometimes get the clip centered into the charmer that compresses the ring. They are a bitch sometimes though.
