Ii have an 02 ls sport with the 5spd tranny... had new clutch and flywheel put in ohhhhh about 20k ish ago by a speed shopp.... got in the car is there was about 4inches of free play in the pedal like it had to be halfway to the floor to engage and when i would release it it would come half way up and then shoot up real quick... went to pull it in my garage and cltch went straight to the floor...... any ideas? im thinking something to do with the slave which means out comes tranny..... any ideas or cheap low mile tranny out there that will fit?
If you dont have a pedal, it could be as simple as a leak, even as simple as an o-ring leaking, the slave was replaced along with the clucth correct?

i checked for a leak but its full on fluid....... and honestly i dont remember if a new slave came with the clutch;(
With all the free-play you have air in the system somehow. Check the master cylinder inside the car and outside on the fire wall for just a little fluid, also check the bottom of the trans - inspection hole..
If you see no leaks - try bleeding the system once more to get your pedal feel back. If you can't get the pedal back I would consider changing the master before the slave to see if you can get away with not pulling a trans. Just my thought.

thanks man ill give it a try......one thing tho is my master was replaced with the clutch and when my motor got done.....
Well - check fort the leaks as I said, then try a bleed. Maybe you some how were working with a trapped air bubble that moved after some driving.
Also, be sure your pedal is allowed to make it's full travel without obstruction at the top of the stroke.
And one other thing - what sort of hose (material) do you have connecting the reservoir to the master? If it's not specifically for brake fluid it will gum up and plug the master not allowing fluid to return to the reservoir.
Good Luck.
alright im going home tommorow ill take a look at it... and ill check to see what materal is used
