A friend of mine bought an 04 cavalier 5 speed and let me take it for a spin. Immediately upon grabbing the shiifter I felt a night and day difference between the smooth gear engagment and feel of the clutch compared to mine.
Previously, when I first picked up my 03, I started a topic asking if such @!#$ty transmission characteristics were normal. After a coule of replies, I was told to flush clutch fluid and change tranny fluid. I did. I also upgraded to a b&m shortthrow. Still terrible, but I passed it off as being a cavalier.
Now my question is.. what do I need to do to get my getrag feeling like his? I wish one of you tranny guys could feel this in person. I believe I have the pennies in a jar problem, although that's not how I would describe the sound that comes from my firewall.
Help me out!
