3t40 slamin into gear possibly a bad IAT sensor?
Thursday, September 16, 2010 7:31 PM
I picked up a 01 2.2 about a month ago. The wife drives this car to work everyday, and on the way to work today she said it was slaming in ever gear then after a few miles it went away. When she explained it to me it reminded me of when i forgot to plug in the IAT sensor before starting up my Z24. Does anyone no if these sensors can have a wacked out reding only momentarly? Any other suggestions? Also the car has 108,000 on it not to sure if the tranny fluid was ever changed would you change it or let it ride?

3t40 is vacuum control IIRC so the engine sensors should affect it.

Might be a good idea to go ahead and change it then, see what happens. On the 3spd transmission a bad IAT sensor won't do jack.

i find it amusing that SHOoff has nothing better to do but follow me around & be an unhelpful dick in even cross-forum. - Jon Mick
