Alrighty guys here goes nothing.
I just replaced the timing chain in my girlfriends 01 cavalier, (it has the 2.2 OHV). Got that done with no issues.
Now all of a sudden I'm having issues with the torque converter staying locked up. It tries to lock and just ends up vibrating the car until I either pulled the selector into 3rd or gave it enough gas to where it wouldn't try to lock up. To remedy this, I removed the brown wire from the harness plug to prevent the TCC from even trying to lock. Success and all was well... so I thought.
Well, this was great for about 50 miles. Now the trans has jacked up the line pressure because I'm assuming for the code that its throwing. (which according to torque was TCC failure) and now it shifts super hard. What can I do to disengage the torque converter lockup until I can find the time to put a new valve body and shift kit in it?
BTW thanks guys, this is the only forum I could find in a quick search that had information on the TCC issues. Keep up the good work!
