Motegi Trak lites version 1 & 2
Thursday, July 28, 2005 12:12 PM
I am looking for a 15x7 rim for drag racing and some normal driving.
Motegi makes both versions of their trak lites in as follows:

Part No. Size Offset Backside Bolt Pattern Weight
2318-5780 15x7 +35 5 3/8 5x100 10.5 lbs.
2388-5780 15x7 +35 5 3/8 5x100 10.5 lbs.

Is this enough offset, I thought +40... was better.
Also what is the best tire size for this setup, I believe that 225-55-r15 would be closest to stock size for correct speedo. (Stock being 205-55-r16.) Will 225-55-r15 fit with this offset?

Thanks in advance.
All comments Welcomed.

That offset is fine, but I would try a 225/50 tire size

Enjoy your trak lites, I love mine

a 225-50-r15, Tire radius is 303mm.
A 225-55-r15, Tire radius is 314.25mm.
My stock size is 205-55-r1,6 tire radius is 315.95mm.

That would be a 1/2" smaller overall tire, should I get a 225-50 over a 225-55 for fitment purposes?

i stayed away from this cause i thought you had wheel sizes mixed up

allthough i am still kinda confused about what you want

but im guessing your going for a set of track tires and rims and wanting to get them in 15's right ?

if so go with the 225/55/15 , but i will say that is a oddball size tire , and might be hard to get

if you were keeping 16"s on the car then a 225/50/16 would be the right size

Yeah i looking at 15X7 trak lites. I am many worried about the off set / cleance issue of the 225-55-r15.
If they made Trak Lites in a 16" rim i would be all over it.
