I have a somewhat small red mark on my rims, just wondering what is the best way to remove it.

I have used the Mother's on some junkyard alloys, with great results. I am unsure on what wheels it is safe to use on though. Maybe Meguiars Cleaner wax would be safer?

I can keep trying soap and water, I was using my finger with slow results.

Try the Mr. Clean Wheel Eraser? It's worked wonders on my rims..

if the little red mark is on all of your wheels, its a mark thats there for a reason.

some wheels, mostly original equipment, have a mark on them. havent seem them much on aftermarkets, but i wouldnt see why not.

anyways back to the point at hand here. that mark usually represents the high/low point of the rim (im pretty sure it's high point).

basically, some tires have a mark on them aswell. when your tire installer is mounting your rims, aligning the mark on the rim with the mark on the tire will result in a better balance.

basically, if the mark on the rim is signalling that thats the heaviest point on the rim and the mark on the tire is signalling the lightest point, making the opposite end the heaviest, then ligning the two marks up would result in a better balance using less weight.

this can also be accomplished by match-mounting tires. match-mounting ligns the high/low poin of the tire and rim to allow for the same results, but more accuratly.

i have not had a single tire on my car since the faactory rubber (which were probably match-mounted there) that i havent match mounted myself.

(note: only certain wheel balancing machienes are capable of match mounting, though similar results can be obtained through other means)

so just incase you cared about why those dots were there, that was the reason. enjoy your new found knowledge.

Injection is nice but id rather be BLOWN!
