I will be running r-compounds on my sunfire for next summer, and am debating a couple sizes.
currently, my street setup is on a set of 17x7 wheels with a 38 offset and 225/45/17 tires with a overall width of 8.9", when I dialed in some camber for autocrossing, I had some slight rubbing due to full lock steering.
I have purchased some rims for the r-compound tires which measure in at 17x7.5 with a 48mm offset.
Option 1 is to go with a 225/45/17 v700 tire (overall width is 8.9"), and drop in a 15mm spacer up front to compensate for the offset and to avoid rubbing.
Option 2 is to go with a 245/45/17 v710 tire (overall width is 9.6"), and drop in a 25mm spacer...
first, does my math work, and second, what would be my best option?
