i have heard rumor that stock wheels and tires ride a whole lot better than aftermarket wheels. true? i was thinkin bout switchin back to my 98 z wheels (205/55/r16) and ditch the 17's(225/45/r17) but i didnt think that 1" would change the ride that much.
The more sidewall you have on a tire = better ride.
I didnt notice a difference in ride quality when i went from 14" steelies to 16" rims.

ok, but would it be a major difference?
you can't ask if theres a major difference when your comparing anything to anything.
from stock 14" steelies to 19's with rubber bands for tires its a huge difference. Going from stock 16" LS Sport wheels to a 17's is going to be a very small difference.
all depends on the qualitly of the tire you get too. i know people who have gone from 17s to 22s and they say its just the same. its all a matter of peference. i personally dont think there is any difference from 16 to 17s
i didnt notice any difference when i went from 16 to 17......i went from 205/55/16 to i think it was 215/40/17 or 205/40/17....ite been like 3 years and ive sold the wheels
Went to 17s from 14 steels and the only time I notice it is when I hit the rumple strip on the highway of drive on seomthing thats constantly uneven like a stone driveway then it reall about shakes me to death. Road ride is fine.
went from 205/55/16 to 215/45/17, not noticeable difference, then went back to 195/65/15 for winters and a hella difference
