hey i am getting a cluster from a 97 z-24 with a 4 speed trans. will it swap to my 98 2200 cavalier with 3 speed trans auto

I'm not sure about the old cars but to answer Nicholas question, anything 00+ is just plug and pay, u wont lose the correct odometer reading....Now i believe all the older ones the odometer is kept in the cluster? at least on the mechanical ones....

95-99 is kept in the cluster, even on the digital 99s (and random digital 98s).

Im looking to swap my cluster 2002 2.2L Cavalier (without a tach) for a cluster with a tach. Will it work? I took the cluster out and there was only one wiring harness going into the Cluster. Now so ive been told there is a tach wire in that harness. Would i be able to take a Cluster with a tach on it and just plug it in a use it?
