Krylon Fusion question (Clear coat)
Wednesday, May 25, 2005 8:06 PM
I had great success painting my interior with Krylon Fusion. I did not apply a clear coat though. I know Krylon Fusion does not require a clear coat, but i was wondering how many of you guys actually used a clear coat and do you recommend it?

I just painted mine w. Krylon Fusion as well over the past weekend and into Monday. I noticed it didn't require a clear coat, and I did not apply any. I have 2 quick coats(one coat, then another after a minute like the directions say) and then another coat over it. Then I sanded everything down(and in between), then put everything back in my car. No problems so far, and I like it as-is.

I used it on mine and it made a huge difference. People were asking me if i had fiberglassed it cause it turned out soo shiny and smooth. I used about 4 layers of it.

Im doing everything in my car right now so its still underprogress. However I did my fuse cover and it came out great. I think what I used was tripple kyrlon finish. Not exactly sure of the name but it def has tripple in it. Make sure you don't put any pressure on it for atleast 2 days though after you put on your final coat or you'l be sanding it down again . Hope that helps.

I painted my grill on my car with it. Clear coat made it smooth and looks a lot better. Though it's not nessicary.

I recommend you clear coat it. I used Krylon Fusion paint on my interior last summer and it turned out great, but I didn't clear coat it. Through the year the interior handle on my driverside has become discoloured because of the constant wear of opening the door and I'm gonna have to repaint it. So definately use a clear coat, just be careful because in my experience, CC is really easy to fu*k up.
