well i was gonna take them out and use the fabric dye on them, but i seen that they were held in by something wierd, not clips or anything, but looks like melted plastic. anyway to put it back on after taking it off? or a better option by chance? thanks

Its not easy, might as well tape the door off and paint them on the door, Thats what i did.

if you have one of those crappy cutco knifes the plasitc welds easily cut off. gdi i hate cutco knives, but holy cow they are great on plastic welds
Not trying to high-jack the thread, but I was also wondering how you would get those back on the door after taking them off? RTV?
I used prong paper fasteners from office depot ( sku#825-489). Cut them in half and used 3m body tape to attach them to a door. Those metal tabs are made to bend so they replace the plastic tabs very well. Also, They will let you get in as often as you want. You can duct tape the tabs back down to the back of the carpet panel if you want. I did this to put my crossover in the panel and insert a clear cover.
