Ok I'm gonna keep this short and simple. My rearview mirror fell off. As some of you know we have a metal plate that is glued onto the windshield and the rearview mirror slides over the metal plate. Well i glued the metal plate upside down and i cannot get the plate off. So does anyone have an idea how i can get this thing off?

Could try swapping some acetone under the metal. That should work, lol
Hey man, I would recommend, for after you get the metal backing off, that you keep the mirror and metal backing attached when gluing it on. This makes it a lot easier to work with. Only prob is that you have to hold it for 5 minutes while it bonds, then you can throw some masking tape on it while it finishes setting. As for getting it off, paint thinner might even help loosen it up a bit. Use a q-tip that is wet with thinner and let it kinda drip between the window and the metal backing. Hope this helps!

Get you another tab and glue it to the old one.

You are correct sir.
Whats 2 .5 mm extra. Besides, if you guys ever read the instructions on the back of the mirror glue packages, it tells you the same thing.
“Facts are meaningless. You could use facts to prove anything that’s even remotely true."

Some people are just too dam dumb. If you read the back of the glue package, it tell you that! Trying to remove the one you just glued could damage the windshield. Read the instructions sometime dip$hit.
