So I was wondering if anyone would know who makes the lightest DOT legal seats for the money? I've been running Kirkey aluminum drag seats for a while but I got nailed by Officer Friendly when he pulled me over because the seats aren't technically street legal. It's bad enough I get nailed for engine mods and interior work that are questionably legal in the eyes of said officer and his coworkers, I don't need them busting me for something like this.

Dam they must be pretty strict about checking out your car for legality.

Here in Texas as long as you have an inspection sticker on you windshield they dont bother checkling your car out. Atleast ive never had any problems.

Since the Kirkeys are illegal for yu, woudl you be interesed in selling them? If so send me some pics to HotRodV6@aol.com and let me knwo what your willing to let them go for.

As far as lightweight racing seats that are street legal, the best bet there would probably be to get on the phone with somebody like Sparco or MoMo, as i believe all there seats are legal and they would know the weights of them, id stay away from any of the ones on ebay, but thats just a personnal opinion.
