My interior has been painted for a year! Ive had a couple small chips, but just the vents....if you clear coat it, it will not fade!

Sorry for the double post.

I didnt sand my parts, I preferred the texture. If you want to, you can sand it smooth and use auto body paint and it'll be pretty much the exact same thing as your car's body...

Yeah my dad had things to say to me too, but i'm 19 and he cna't do anything about it cept the car is in his name. But i figured, i'm just going to do it and he can say whatever cuz it's my car and i wanted to do this.

My interior has been painted for about 2 years now.
No chipping or fading. If its done right it will last a long
time.

about sanding to get rid of the texture...i found this product..its called phranha by 3M its a body glaze...thinner then body putty ...i havnt tried it yet but im guessing using that stuff would cut your sanding time in atleast half and prolly make for a higher quality look...again im just guessing this as i havnt tried it myself

yup, the only thing i wouldnt paint are the vents, people play w/ them and chip the @!#$ out of them. Other than that, sanding the plastic to rough up the texture then PRIMER! it's important for paint to adhese better. then paint it and CLEAR IT! lol it will make the paint last so so much longer. my interior's been done for about 3 years now and i've only got some small chips from idiots in my car. Now if youre wanting to do your dash pad, and paint that.. i dunno never done it. YOu'd have to ask a body shop or someone else who has.
