anyone want universal seat brackets?

i think ive finally got a good design for a seat bracket that will fit any seat.....it sits about 1" off the floor(enough for the sliders to clear all the studs) and shouldnt weigh more than 2-3 lbs MAX....as long as you give me the right measurements i can have it ready to bolt up to your seat and even paint it..or you can do it yourself if you prefer...i know alot of people dont have access to the tools they need or have the time to even attempt things like this...my brackets will be done in just a couple days and ill have pics up by then so you can see if you like them or not...i cant do this for free but im not a buisness so i dont plan on charging alot but i need to know how many ( if any) are interested ...so if your at least interested in an affordable low setting seat bracket let me know..and if no one wants any let me know so i dont make any more ....thanks guys

I would take a set if i had differnet seats in my car. I would still buy some considering that i will be getting new seats for teh Z in spring. But I thnk that your post is misl;eading by saying if anybody WANTS, seat brackets and then to find out that we have to PAY for them. What a bummer. Just kiddin guy, I think that it is great idea and that everything would work out great. I would take a set depending on how much they are.

i would be interested in a set, guaranteed. i have my racing seats in the car already, but i wanna lower em a little bit. I've been wanting to fix em for about 4 months, but have no time or garage to do so. so i would love a set.

ok ..you guys that already have seats what i need is for you to get me a measurement...i need to know the space between YOUR sliders..i know most aftermarket seats comewith their own sliders but i need to know if they are the same distance apart (side to side) as mine are ...so i need someone to measure from the inside of one slider to the inside of the other and then the outside to outside ....that way ill know if the one i currently have will fit most or not..thanks guys

also just as a general opinion do you guys prefer the front of the seat be slanted up a bit compared to the back( like the stock mounts) or do you just want low set level brackets???

i finished one bracket today but im not gonna take pics till its primed , painted on the car floor so you can see if you like or not.....now keep in mind i dont have a bunch of these things i only make them as you order them so i CAN make as you WANT them..making a slantis a bit of a trick so the one in the pic will be set flat and painted black..they are about 1" off the floor and weigh in (right now) at about 1lb. ..they are made of the best aluminum i could get ..if you want stronger like steel itll cost alittle more and weigh more too ofcourse so this is all ona order by order basis....i should have pics up tomarow and i hope everyone likes

The only problem I see you runing into is getting the seats to actually slide back and forth without it hitting the floor, or rubbing the floor. I had one hell of a time getting my seats to fit without that problem. I just cut up my 200 something dollar corbeau brackets to set them back about 6 to 10 inches and lower them like 3 inches.
To angle them all you have to do is put some spacers where the seat bolts to the bracket in the front.
You can build a flat bracket and just leave it to the buyers discretion as to weather they want it slanted or not by just using spacers. Also remember that you have to make a space for the seat belt on the drivers side. Just don't want you to forget about that LOL.
But I am pretty sure you have it all under control. I will be waiting to see these brackets. Maybe I will order a set just to see how I like them compared to the ones I have right now.

ya know...that actually helped me ALOT..i think im gonna leave it to the buyer to make their own slants..it ll save time and money ...ill make the brackets and if the buyer wants to slant it a bit they can put in some spacers when they bolt the seats to them...hows that sound

well here ya go guys ...this is merely the first so dont make fun of the quick paint job all you have to do is bolt it to your seat then bolt it to the floor ...i just got it bolted up so im gonna go for a spin and test out the strength of it ...well..heres the pics

ok there it is ..go ahead make fun if your seats set to high or you dont have means to make your own let me know....this bracket weighed in at about 1 lb and just a hair over 1" off the floor

so that would make the seat stationary. wouldnt be able to slide it at all, correct?

well, i think the bracket is made for you to add the sliders that came with the seats(providing your seats came with sliders, i know mine did)

lookin good man, just lemme know when you need the money. i cant wait to get rid of my crappy brackets

oh ok, makes sense, someone can slap me for not assuming that lol. yeah i noticed how 99% of the ads i see for seats say "with universal sliders"

if i could just make one suggestion, i think it would be useful to put 2 more pieces of steel across like in my example below. like the pieces the base are made of, just across, cuz im not sure if my seats are that wide to fint on the outside edges like shown. this way, it makes em universal, and whoever gets em can just drill where they need to match their sliders. just a though

Re: anyone want universal seat brackets?

ok ..first those brackets where made to fit MY seats...the front to bars will be similar but the slider supports will be made to fit the diminsions you give me( know what i mean)..so they will be closer in if that is what you need...the next issue to deal with is safety...these brackets bolt down tight and fit good and hold the seat good as possible..i belted my wife to the seat and spun around the country side for a while with no issues...well..with the bracket anyway ...BUT..currently there is no place for the seat belt to bolt to on the driver side since i dont use that kind of belt...if you want it bolted to it i can make a hole or you can do it no problem but i dont know how these would hold up ina wreck since they are aluminum..i recommend bolting that belt to the floor like the other belts..but its your choice.......unless of course you guys have better ideas????

^^ok, thats cool, i was just curious when i seen the pics. as for the belts, i didnt even think about it. i plan on harness' with a harness bar, but that is a good point

yea..i simply drilled a hole like on the passenger side and used a bolt the same size(for strength) and bolted my harness down to that

maybe in a few months i will buy a set

id suggest making those brackets out of steel, My brackets are basically like that, but they are made from 1" steel square stock (1/8" thick) all around and then notched out for the studs, keeps alittle more strength imo, also on the drivers side i make it alittle longer so i could bolt on the seatbelt buckle to the bracket.
