since there are maybe 2 or 3 guys that have ever swapped it out for something else chances are good you wont get an answer on this one, just start hitting up some junkyards and looking at the cars there and find something you like that will fit.

That's a good way to get help on a forum, be a dumbschitt. Way to go. The year of car might make a difference you know.

all the rear seats are universal for all 3rd gens 95-04 or whenever they stopped making them as for swaps there is no easy rear seat swap all you need to do is get something slose and make so brackets I am currently swapping the back seat should have it done jan or so

Incorrect. I have a full back seat that folds down in my 99 GT, many other J's have split 60/40 fold down seats...sounds different to me...

Bummrz is 100% correct(he changed his backseat enough times to know lol ) the dimensions are the same, latches different, with that said if you wanted to switch backseats take measurements of the bottom mounts on the seat bottom (beleive there are 2 hooks on 3rd gens with full folding, dunno about 60/40) and the distance form the one side of the rear seat back to the other, then look at the mounting mechanism on the new seat back, only way to figure it out 100% is try tho

The dimensions are the same, but the back fold downs are different. The single fold down has a latch in the middle and of course the 60/40 has a latch on both fold downs. If changing from a single fold down to a split you will need to do some mods with the latches.

you said in your original post that all back seats are universal, which they're not. They require some fab. if you want the 60/40 with latches to work properly. Just dont want this guy gettin his hopes up
