ok i know that 2000+ gauge clusters can be swapped and the older 95-97 can too just by removing the roll over odometer by removing screws. well unfortunately i have a 99 and the 98-99 clusters are digital like the 2000+ but one difference the mileage is stored inside the cluster itself not the bcm.
now heres my question and i know many of you can help. if i got a gauge cluster from lets say a 2003 and wanted to retain my mileage could i take the cluster apart and remove the digital reading from my car now and insert it inside of the 2003 and still have everything work.
just me trying to figure out a way to do this.
Nope, you can only use a cluster from 95-99, and in order for you to show correct mileage, you'd have to send it out and have it calibrated.
2000+ clusters get thier information from a different place than the 95-99 clusters, you'd have to convert your entire car over to 2000+ wiring in order to use the 2000-2005 clusters.

I want to swap in a cluster with a tach. into an '02.
The mileage is like 62000, will it still show 62000 if I put a different cluster in ('00-'02)?
Is there any issues with this?

Also, can I use a US-spec one into a Canadian car?
