Need Help ASAP
Tuesday, April 25, 2006 8:58 PM
Okay, so my cavy is setting out in my driveway with the steering wheel off. I'm trying to install my new aftermarket wheel and I ran into problems. I got the wheel off and where a number of holes for my hub adapter to screw into should be, I see a large black plastic ring with the airbag wire running into it and a GM Notice stiker. I can't figure out how to get that thing off. Anyone know what's up here?

Woooo bubbies.

Please, someone has to know what this thing is and how to get it off. I've searched all through the forums. I couldn't find a thing.

Okay, here are some picks of the mess I've made. I have to drive this thing to class tomorrow, so I really need to get this wheel on there.

Here is that piece I was talking about, I wiggled it until it broke out and some ribbon came flying out:

Here is where I think I'm supposed to attached the hub adapter, but I really have no idea:

Here is my steering wheel already attached the to quick release hub:

So, what am I doing wrong? anyone, anyone?

Woooo bubbies.

Try removing the steering wheel from the hub and bolting it onto the steering shaft first..

At least that's what it looks like from looking at the hub

The hub doesn't bolt to the steering shaft, does it? It's a 6-bolt and I thought those didn't bolt onto the shaft? Mayb'e I'm wrong? I dont know. I just need a sure fire fix

What brand of hub adapter do you have?

Nevermind. I'm an idiot and all I order was the "quick release hub" . Not the actual adapter. Damned Ebay. Well. Now that I've got that cleared up, I have to order a 60$ part.
