I deid some searching, but the info was vauge on exact years, and compatability between everything. I am trying to buy a center console for my 95 2.2 2dr manual sunfire. It has power windows as well.
I had heard the newer years, like 2000+ would fit, but i accidentially bought a 4 dr one and that didn't work. I am now looking at one on ebay
here
I asked and the seller says it is from a 2dr. Would my power window switch pop in where that compartment is, or do i need a newer windows switch?
The only reason i want the newer one is to have more cup holders. I've also read that I may need the brackets from the newer years, because otherwise the bolt hole is not centered?
Can anyone advice is the one listed in the link will fit my 95 sunfire, manual tranny, with power windows?
Thanks, Jeff
2dr and 4dr consoles are identical
that console is from a auto trans , and will require a little triming for the 5spd shift boot to fit
also you need to have the brackets from a 00-05 car for that console to work on the 95-99
or you have to modify the brackets and make your own to make it work
also you need the 00-05 power window switch , the 95-99 wont fit into the console
Thanks for the info. So, they are the same? hmmm, ok. I'll have to go take a 2nd look at the one i have in my closet. I had test fit it, and in the back, i thought it didn't fit flush with the floor pan, because it didn't curve down with the floor pan. But that was a while ago, i can't remember exactly. Maybe i don't have to buy anything except the brackets, and the window switch.
You wouldnt need an entire new switch, just the switch trim for a 00 2 dr console.
Part# 22603643, which is like $12 shipped from GMPartsdirect, or 4-7 from a local GM dealer.
sorry to bring it back from te dead

for this.. can i just redrill holes in the current brackets? cuz i put mine in today and i got the back two bolts in but the front and middle bolt arent close to their holes.. but it looks like its still on a metal bracket.. couldi just drill a hole through and get that to work?
the front bracket just bend over to the right a bit untill you line the hole up. the bracket will sit lower. but it will help suck the console down to the floor more. as for the midle bracket you can just drill and tap your own hole or you can just rill it out and put a nut on it. im not sure how accesible that would be.
thanks. i pulled it back out and flipped em upside down to see the difference and its not much at all..
if anyone wants to see the pics i took lemme know and ill host em
