Hey I posted this question awhile ago, but no one was able to help me. I'm installing leds in my cluster and HVAC. I've already got the cluster done, now behind the HVAC. How the heck do you get the bulbs out? I was told to break em like I did the cluster bulbs, but I don't see anyway to get all the peices out. Thanks

i used one of those rubber jar openers on mine, and it worked, on the second set i did i cut the side a little bit with a razor and used a little screw driver to pry them out all in one piece. hope that helps

Ok so you used one of those adjustable rubber wrenches to just pull the bulb straight out, and where did you make the cut . Parrellel or perpendicular to the bulb itself.

SHOBS, have you tried to do a search on this? Because there was a big thread on this. I know my lights are a PITA since I have an 05, (I can not remember, you have an 99) yours is much easier than mine I do beleive. Do the search and you will find an a$$ load of info on this.

all the HVAC bulbs are the same 95-05 cavs and fires, just not as easy on the 00-05 as it is on the 95-99 cuz the HVAC is under the radio in stead of on top. and when i used the jar opener it was just one of those flappy pieces of rubber not a wrench. the slices i made are perpendicular to the bulb, you will see on each side of the bulb that its a little thinner thats where i cut it out and used a little eyeglass screw driver.

Sweet, thanks for the help guys. I ended up just breaking my bulbs and pulling them out by the filament. The cluster turned out awesome, But the HVAC looks too dim. Anyone know any cool tricks to get em brighter. I know one guy wrapped the back with foil or somethin. Does that do much good?

ya it actually makes them alot brighter, but at the same time it makes the light going thru the selectors dissaper and only lighting up the knobs. its a sacrifice but makes it alot brighter

yea, and sand the edges of the LED to a more eounder a < > looking shape instead of [ ] .. gl...

That's not true. If you pull back the foil in the areas that the icons are at (see my image in the other thread, on the last page), the icons light up as well.
