Sunfire Center Console Cigarette Lighter

Well I'm putting in a sunfire center console in my cav and I looked at the back of the cigarette lighter and it has a pin in the middle with threads to screw something in. Am I just missing the piece that goes in there for the wiring clip to hook up to it? I don't have my old cavalier cigarette lighter piece that is in the dash bezel to figure it out. I know I am going to have to extend the wires down to the center console because they are too short but I have to figure out the connection. Thanks for any help!

You can probably rig something up. The clip isn't necessary. The center post is positive, the side is ground.

-- or -- you can take the socket out (the back unscrews to remove it) and head on down to the autoparts store. They should have a replacement clip for it.

You could get a brand new cigarette lighter assembly from the parts store for under $4.Just use the supplied wires and splice into a 12V source.

Thanks a lot guys, I went to autozone and bought a replacement with posts on it and wired it up. Ended up running a wire up to the old cigarette lighter power wire so that it would work without the keys in the acc or on position.
