Ok since i keep hearing about all the cracked cavie dashes i picked one up and in the process of making a thin fiberglass cover for it. Now my question is...how do you guys want it? want it to stick on with double sided tape? glue on? also is there a want for in primer or raw? Let me know what ypu guys want and there will be a solution comming soon...and just a idea of what you guys will pay would be nice as well..phil
The one from Winks Online was 100 dollars I think. I thought that was kinda pricey they are no longer making them or in business or whatever!
I like the idea and if the price is right I will take one RAW

id be thinking the $75 range was my idea...anyone have pics of the winks one? im making one as i type to get some ideas..phil illl post pics shortly of a prototype..phil
I dont have a picture but as far as mounting goes I think his was snug enough to not need anything really but if you wanted to you could add to screws to the sides in the door jam area that would make it perfectly secure
There are pictures on thsi site somewhere but I cnat find them. It may not have been winks it might have been another member I cant remember its was awhile ago. I will try and search

Yah i found the post..sadly the pics are gone..buzz made some and so did another guy...but stuf didnt work out..ill make a few i think....phil
it would be pretty sweet if you could have a gauge pod or two molded in there. especially for 75 bucks. just a thought.
yah if i was to do guage pods added the price would go up accordingly...not too much tho...I have to get another dash now to make a mold....so tommorow ill start making the mold i hope anyways..shouldnt take much more then a week or so...phil
Just another question tho..you want abit extra on the sides so you can trim it to fit your car perfectly?
totally in on this i need one really bad so put me in on the list
yay
ill believe it when i see it...but if u can manage to finish it, ill take one for my girls car.
another idea that poped in my head dont know if anyone has done it i dont think so but a fiberglass top dash pad and window piece together so it was all smooth.
sorry for not really staying on ur topic here just thought i would throw out my idea
thats actually a cool idea
i just picked up a fire dash to match the ft end swap because of the dash HOLE i have- my crack brought friends. the newest problem for us swappers is.... have you looked at the dished out area on the fire doors to fit the dash inbetween them when the doors close?????? ive already started my glass door panels when i noticed my buddies doors are dished to clear the edge of the dash. now, im redoin the top too. just a heads up if you havent looked.
I would like one....I wanna get rid of my dash cover.
Well wen you guys do a fire dash swap you also have to change to the fire door panels...phil
so whenever you get somethin going as to how i pay and recieve it then ill be all up for it thank you
for sure guys..sorry ive been sick all week so all ive done is gotten a spare dash and some pva...phil

I used JB Weld to glue mine back together; I plan on covering it with vinyl to match the other part of the dash, but I'm interested to see what you come up with.
I guess mine was cracked pretty bad.
^^^ wow..yeah that cracked really bad.
but you did a good job putting it back together
Thank you "big poppa", the trick to it all is not losing the little pieces that break off.
umm wow..thats bad..lol..this weekend will be the first day of making the mold..ill post pics for you guys of the progress..phil
