Low quality filler??

Here are my first couple fg projects, 3 gauges in the dash and a fg'ed door panel with a 61/2 in it

both projects are not done cause i am having alot of problems with the filler, i used 60 grit on a palm sander for most of it until relativly smooth than worked up from 100-800 with hand and still big chunks are coming out and i can never get it how i want it, i have to keep laying more layers and the dang thing is getting heavy i think its just cause i am using BONDO brand filler, its like the cheapest filler out there so i think i learned my lesson

you might not be putting the right amount of hardener in it. too much will make it brittle.

big chunks falling out?

yup what ^ he said. you might be using the wrong ratio of hardener. Also the filler shouldn't be used too thick at all...it is more of a thin coating to level out the fiberglass work.

that or you are not mixing it well and leaving hardener out of spots. ive used bondo severl times in a pinch and ive never had the issues your having.
