K so I got a custom white gauge cluster off ebay because i needed one and the guy said it came out of a 2000 Z24, Well I have a 01 Z24 and this one has no tach? WTF! did they make Z's without a tach? I have a auto can I run it anyway?

if its an overlay then no it wont work
its the whole cluster. I got it because my mileage light went out. on the top of it it says 2000 2.2L Z24 Will it work? I do not really want to lose the tach. but could i use it for the time being?
are they both digital odometers?, if so plug it in if it run then it will work.
Yeah they are both digital odometers. I just didn't want to mess anything up or blow anything by not using the same one.
you can swap them. if their both digital like he said then its just a plug and play
K so im putting my gauge cluster in and there is two wires a black and a gray one that run from the white gauge overlay I am pretty sure that it is to light up the gauges. there is a clip half way up the two wires does it just plug in to something? or do i have to splice it ? if so where the heck do i connect them? please help.

there should of been a box that came w/ the overlay. off the box is 2 wires w/ the same plug, plug those together and then you can change the color and brightness from the box. the 2 wires, black is ground and gray is the source wire
So I need the box? It did not come with one. The overlay came with the whole cluster put together. guess im screwed!
well usually it comes w/ one. i know when i bought both of mine, mine came w/ them so you can plug it in
