Since I'm too lazy to try and find the history of this, but I'm still bored, I'm choosing to make up the story based on the pictures.

So like, a dude is at a bar and picks up this chick who is totally impressed by his wicked car, so he gives her a ride back to his house.
On the way home, he forgets why he has two tachometers, and in that moment of confusion he hits a stray dog. The damn thing bounces off the windshield and lies limp on the roadside. This totally KILLS the mood. He had to do something, or else the rest of the evening "WOULDN'T LOOK GOOD". So he performs doggie CPR and saves its life. She digs it.
Back at his house, they are "getting busy" when the dog's owner, having searched until she found the car with an imprint of the dog's bony ass in the bumper, beat down the door. She wanted someone to pay the vet bills, and the anguish of the dogs recovery. The gude tells this lady to screw off -- he saved the dog's life. So she grabs the ends of his cable-TV coax cables, tears off the connectors, drops them on the edge of the bed -- suggesting his testicles would meet the same fate if he didn't pay up."I'll see you in court", she says, and storms out. The dude and the chick look at each other, shrug, and then resume making out.
The next morning, the chick had snuck out, but left a hot picture on the nightstand. He discovers it's a perfect fit to tuck behind his painted guage bezel, and if he speeds, he can make the needle poke her in the face which makes him laugh. Life LOOKS GOOD. Very good indeed. Until the court date. THE END.

I should have also mentioned:

The dog died tragically the following day, and that if the lighting is right, you can still see the silhouette of his spirit haunting the hood of the car, peering over the dashboard, doomed to wander this Earth until the dude gets new wallpaper and puts his USB-powered vibrator away.

Funny though, i posted this cus i asked for pics of a sunfire dash with a big tach, as my engine is currently out of the car, block at tthe machine shop waiting for all new parts. Only thing stock now is the crank, block, and head

Rofl, that story was great.

No, this is the guy with a 04 sunfire and is completely building the engine... His problem is that the stock tach only goes to 7k, and his cams/valvetrain/bottom end are all beeing built for 8000+ RPMS. So no, im not the guy who put the grand am dash in his j

You should have gotten a huge ass speedometer that only goes to 62.5, that seems to be all the MPH you need???
And I could have just sworn you were the guy that felt the urge to paint the outside edge of everything blue........

Gosh, you're being a good sport about this. I love how you defend the couch, but didn't defend your choice of USB peripherals.

Seriously though -- I see the couch now. I sort of wondered about that cusion, but figured you might have a color-coordinated decor. I mistook your laptop screen frame for a door frame.

So this post is about the giant tach that you can only see a small portion of in the picture? We got a genius photographer don't we. Try taking a picture of the object your posting about next time.

I used to race cars, now I race myself.

LMFAO @ Geeky's story... oh man.

I'm guessing Ben, you revved to high in the past? Why not just get a shift light then? Your setup looks good, but I think a shift light would have done the trick.

haha i work in the industry for a living, was at a dealer for 2 years and now i drive parts while im in college.... I hear it ALL....

Imagine working at a ford dealer where everyone there is all about "no replacement for displacement" And driving a supercharged sunfire.

Plus it gives me a good laugh.

And Hypsy... Not trying to offend you, but your post is retarded. The point of this post is to show how the DASH looks with a big tach, and i personally dont mind it, IMO it looks pretty damn good. But i knew alot of people wouldnt like it, which is why i put my flame suit on. Actually i really really loved Geekys story, gave me a good laugh.

TomsCavalier, your damn right they are... Im actually sitting on that couch right now, my parents tried to throw it out but i told them if the couch goes, i go. Im surprised they didnt call someone right then and there lol.

BMXludwig... your comment about the 62.5MPH is correct. Because around here the highest posted speed limit is 65MPH and thats on ONE highway, I-270 is 55. So if my speedo is in the area that her picture is at then im in Ticket range.
so it really doesnt matter if i can read the rest of the speedo.

Oh, and i have HPtuners to tell me how fast im going if i really wanna know

WEEEE that was alot of typing
