Porting a corner-moulded sub box
Sunday, May 20, 2007 9:53 PM
So I'll be building a new sub box this summer and I've always gone with sealed, but I'd like to go ported now.

It won't be a rectangle, so how would I go about making a port? I suppose I could use some mandrel bent exhaust pipe or something.

Any suggestions?

Wow, I'm not very smart. Could a mod move this to A+E please?

check out selectproducts.com

they have all kinds of different shaped ports. or you could experiment with pvc pipe. but i cant say ive heard many good sounding ported fiberglass boxes. its tough to get a good sound when theres alot of different angles and reflection in the box

real hard part is if you dont know exactly how big the box is how are you going to tune it properly other then allot of trial and error.
