updated pic

still got some trimming to do so the cupler sits right. it will be done soon enough.

Re: made an intake

im still just surprised it doesnt rub.. my intake rubed right where the intake coupler on the tb sat... now that you have it black and after driving it a bit you might notice some rubbage now.

Re: made an intake
Friday, June 08, 2007 3:38 PM
possibly but when i shut the hood i can tell it barely touchs the heat gaurd. so it might start rubbing. we will see.

Re: made an intake

i think it looks good, why buy one for thirty when you can make one for less? good job man if my car didnt have the intake arleady i would have made one, i made one for my 2200 and i thought it came out good

Re: made an intake

It has to rub....

Re: made an intake

the only thing 'better' than that intake would be some old crush bent exhaust piping with some 'performance' stickers on it!

dood, its $30 bucks, if you cant afford THAT you shouldnt be modding your car at all, cuz you need to be worried about other things. IDC how much cheaper yours was to make, at least the ebay one looks RIGHT.

i respect that you made one from scratch, good job on THAT.

rofl. dude your a tool. seriously. you think you know everything. i made it. it works great. why would i pay if i dont have to? and its not that i "can't" afford it, its that i dont "need" to afford it.
and please tell me what doesnt look right about it. because its like 3 inches higher?

Is that pipe slid OVER the coupler?

Re: made an intake
Friday, June 08, 2007 8:37 PM
for now yes i need a new coupler for that. we actually sell them at menards (where i work) i just didnt have the time to pick one up yet.

Re: made an intake

Could get the Cobra Head style

Could cut the pipe straight and and i think it would line up better

Great job though man

did you paint the outside of your headlight lenses?

Re: made an intake

I say it looks pretty decent, and if you did it for under $30 with what you have then more power to ya. Some people are saying an ebay intake would look better, but is an intake not just a pipe with a filter? If your soo worried about the way it looks than go spend $150 on an aem or something. I for one dont think yours looks that bad.

I realy dont see how thats not rubbing the hood though...whatever lol. Just be careful though, I got a dent sticking out of my hood from having the bolt part of a clamp sticking up; not sure what would happen with a large pipe lol
