Just painted( Duplicolor rattlecan)
Thursday, June 21, 2007 9:15 PM
Posted this in the Exterior Forum, should have posted here,(oh well I am a double postin' devil)
Anywho,as the title states just painted yesterday, got this front from Karnage(jeff) and was sick of it being black.I know phone cam pics suck, was all I had.Yes it is brighter than the rest of the car, being that the rest of the paint is almost 10 yr. old and this is only the second bumper I have done.

If you are posting this for critique of your painting ability get better pics. Those are too small to say it looks good, but from the size it doesnt look bad. dunno what else to say?

Wow sweet, now you have to double your workload by sanding it all off so automotive paint will actually stick to the bumper......

Re: Just painted( Duplicolor rattlecan)

Was sanded, primered, painted, and cleared, how is it not going to stick. So the pics aren't the greatest SO WHAT,many here post up phone pics! That is why people don't post alot in this forum, because some of you are so damn picky and anal.We all can't afford $1200 Nikon's and $300 to paint a bumper.

it will stick but you have to sand it all off for real paint to adhere if you plan on actually getting it painted by a professional. so it will probly cost you more in the wrong one. and dont take this wrong im not bring a dick im just informing you. but it does look better than black and it doesnt look like you did too bad of a job.

I use a Canon digicam that's worth about $100, and the results are more than adequate for all web-posting needs. Camera phones are just evil.

And I used rattle-can clear on my doors to try and delay the deterioration where I pulled my side moldings. That's worked better than it had any right to.

I believe most ppl were under the impression that this was a temp. fix (cause you were annoyed it was black). No need to get snappy cause someone actually ASSUMED that you had honest intentions of actually PAINTING your expensive bumper the color of you vehicle with automotive paint...

amen brotha, thats why I sent you the link with canons instead! Besides, I like canons better anyway and the XTI is only 800 and it comes with the memory card. God bless newegg. Just bustin on ya bro! Still gonna send me those hoses??? anyway...

I can't say I blame you on not spending 300 bucks on painting the bumper, I am gonna do the whole car in rattle can, just so its all one color. I believe the fact of the matter here is that people clicked on the thread because of its subject, and we were expecting to critque the rattle can abilities of one BIGGSZ24. When we got here they were camera phone images that everyone knows you can't see @!#$ with. So it was pretty pointless. I'm not tryin to bust on ya, but dude, gotta get a good camera! If you want a hand picking out something, I can give you a hand, I am a photographer and you don't have to spend an ass load of cash like I did, but something is better than nothing.

All you've got to do is increase the size before you take the picture. Anyways...

An off-shade of white looks a lot better than black on a white car lol. From the one picture, I can't see anything wrong so good job. When you do get it professionally painted later on, they will have to sand all that off, but I think a little bit more cost later justifies the bumper looking decent now.

Yeah, sorry for the snappy comments and for the crappy pics.I have a digital camera but lost the USB cord.I really did just get sick of it being black, although I like the black n white combo. on cars like zyaaaa's.The color I used is the same as the car, bright white. But yes I will use a good camera next time.Right now I am more into go than show so that's why I only spent $20 painting it.

Ragin:lines are goin' out today

AMEN BROTHA! Vert has to weigh a ton tho! How much those pigs weigh anyway? My girl's has no balls and it can chirp 3rd gear, tho the clutch is brand new.

what kind of usb cable do you need? I might have something! I have a ton of cables laying around. You could also get a memory card reader off ebay for cheap.

whats the brand and model of your camera?

if you cant afford to paint a bumper, then dont get a bumper imo.

Re: Just painted( Duplicolor rattlecan)

i dont see the complication, my 1.3mp LG phone takes awesome pictures, of course its gotta be hella bright out for them to look any good, BUT... thats not the point, the point is you CAN take decent pics with a camera phone.

good job at least on the effort part of painting man, to rattle can that and get it to look halfways decent would seriously take some time. although we cant really tell how well of a job you did, im with the ppl that say white looks better than the black it was, however the quality.

the reason why people are saying it will all have to be sanded off is because spray paint generally reacts with automotive paint. I didn't get all the krylon fusion off of my door panels and after spraying them today i notice they are bubbling. You definitly don't want that look with a front bumper.

Ok, cool. Now we just need to find a solution for indoor shots, lack of tripod, lack or flash, and the 99% of camera phones out there that still just plain suck.

ok now, LG FTW!

but that might just be me.

this is a pretty nice camera, price has gone down significantly too

the plus on that one is that you have the folding LCD so you can get wierd angles and still see the screen perfectly.

I have one like it and I love it. Its what I use for all my car @!#$, just cause I don't wanna risk breaking my $1000 camera from it sliding off the hood or something.

one thing tho, rechargable batteries are your friend, spend the extra cash and get a good set and you will do fine.

you suck. camera whore. lol

i have a canon A540, it takes pretty damn good pictures, but for some reason ive yet to figure out how to manage taking a few without the center being clear and the outside layers blurry as hell, it annoys the crap out of me.

I'm pretty sure the answer is "get a camera that isn't defective". It just shouldn't be that way.
