back from the paintshop part VIII
Tuesday, August 21, 2007 10:17 AM
and heres my post. well i damaged the car coming back from a show last month about a week before the bash. and i was going to pay for this out of pocked since i had just gotten a check from insurance to fix my hhr less thena month before. so with that and other expenses i had to miss the bash. so the car went into the paintshop again and the painter talked me into adding to it instead of just respraying it, im very happy with how it came out. some people wont like it but thats life. the car has been silver for 6 years now and it was time to go a little wild with it. besides seems it seems that subtle is the in thing to do. and ive never been one to want to be part of the in crowd. it still needs to be wetsanded and buffed but the painter threw 3 coats fo clear on it so we will have plenty of clear to work with so it should look even nicer when that is done. i picked the car up the tuesday before itb. and didnt get to even wash it down till friday night around 9 or 10pm. i was dissapointed i didnt place at itb. i had won pretty much every show up till this one. but the film crew for espn2 filmed it so it may show up there for the drag racing series sept. 9 at i think 3pm. someone will have to record it for me. credit for the pics go to godspeed, i got so busy that i didnt even get any pics of my own car.

HOLY COW!!! I LOVE THAT!!!

That is exactly what your car needed! It makes the evil eyes look sooo much more menacing its not funny.

Can I make one suggestion though? Change all of your vinyl to a light shade of blue so that it takes that blue color throughout the rest of the car. The vinyl looks out of place in the shade of silver now that blue is such a dominating color on the car. Just a thought? either way it looks incredible but you know there are ones that think it dont........

simply amazing. the work in the engine bay is 10x better now. you see the car, then you pop the hood and its all the same. absolutly perfect, man.

did they spray the entire car, or did the just do the airbrush work and clear over it? i rememeber u saying you had some paint matching issues after some of the body work this winter, jw thats all.

car looks great, please keep up the stunning work!

area 51.
dont think i want to swap the black for blue, the entire interior used to be blue and silver and im just done with that color combo. black gues allot cause my brakes are black, valv cover is black, trunk setup is black and interior is black. only colors i have on the car are silver black and blue.

joe
im surprised more shots didnt pop up with the hood open it was open for half the day, id close it for two hours then open it for a couple hours thruout the day so people had the chance to see it with the hood up and down. i like showing off the hood but i also know when im taking pics of a car i like it better when the car is closed up instead of the hood being up blocking the lines of the car.

z22
yeah i really need to break down and get the projectors. probalby a mod for next spring.

cavcelica.
really dont like to get into giving out what i paid and stuff, but i'll say it was a couple grand for the front end.

z yaaaaa the rear had been sprayed and then coated with 3 coats of clear. then when this happened the front half was resprayed and coated in 3 coats of clear.

ryan.
dont get me started on that. still wondering what happend. only theory i have is that all 3 winners of my class were judged on friday i was judged on saturday, so if u have a diffrent judge doing scores it could very. maybe fridays judge was someone who could easily be wowed by certain cars with alllot of flaws. derrick was the only one that i was happy about placing. we were pissed you didnt show because we thought we had a chance of beating you. but apparently my car still sucks lol. see u at the wedding.

eric
thanks, i was pretty bummed. tara was more pissed then me.

easy.
thanks man that means allot

godspeed.
i dont want to sit in your car. lol
