New Pics: Exhuast and Intake
Monday, August 27, 2007 8:47 AM
Hey j.org, i been stalkin around the org for over a year now and finally made a user account. Never posted any pics so i thought Id let everyone get a glimpse of the whip. Just got some new goodies on the cav. New Vibrant Catback, AEM Cold Air, and Bypass Valve. Alot of thanks to Arron and Turbo Tech for helping me out with the vibrant cat back when the magnaflow was discontinued.

I am totallllly in love with this exhaust set up. I originally has a 22 inch magnaflow resonator i was gunna weld on there too, but the Vibrant sounded sooo good without it. No cracks or gurgles, doesnt sound like a fart can at all

Comments and Questions are welcomed! I know there is a few good scratches on my paint......sad result of parking the car at a campus university parking lot
Plan on getting them fixed soon, then onto more modding. You can also catch a glimpse of my Mom's 2002 Camaro SS and my sisters 2006 Cobalt. Yea, we're a chevy family. lol.

Looks good so far. You should make a video clip of your exhaust so we can hear what it sounds like.

Heres a link to a clip of the Exhaust, quality isnt the best. Used the record function on the digital camera. The mic didn't pick up the lower frequencies from exhaust, but it aint bad. Enjoy!

Oh my god, I cant believe how rediculously clean the underside of your car is...and the engine...

The car looks awesome, and that tip is beautifully simple!

Looks good, might want to center up the tip a bit. Minor tweaking, welcome to the aftermarket world.

Looks very nice. I would tweak the fitment a little to get the tip centered in the bumper cutout. Otherwise very nice choice.

Thanks. Yea i do plan on getting a header down the road, so i might hang onto the resonator. Most likely selling it, and when the time comes, getting a smaller one.

Thanks man. I know, when i saw the sunburst metallic on a sedan i totally fell in love with it. Makes the sedan look alot more sportier. I def keep the tip clean haha. I clean the tip often and use Meguiar's NXT Generation All Metal Polysh. Works great on all metal surfaces, especially the tip and rims.

I cleaned the engine bay pretty good with just some household cleanser and water before the intake was installed and been trying to clean and polish the valve cover up. Underside is just as surprising to me as it is to you lol

Haha I know, those parking lots are cut throat. Hahaha a fellow baller? Nicee man, Dye sponsored our clothing for a while. Can't seem to get rid of my timmy though hahaha. Most likely going down to World Cup @ Disney to watch my friends play. Unfortunately I'm too broke to play.

Thanks dude. Your sedan has been one of my inspirations. Love the clean look of the factory lip kit with your secret turbo haha. Wanna do the same thing eventually with the GM SC kit.

And to Quiklilcav and wasp96.....Thanks for the comments. Yea i know i still need to tweak the tip in the right spot, unfortunately i leave for school in a few days, so it will have to do for now.

Future plans for the cav include a whole crazy list of ideas haha. But for now the more plausible future mods are the strut bars, leather racing seats, custom leather bench, header, gauges, carbon altezzas with the carbon fascia, and a bunch of dynamat. MUCH MUCH later mods when i have the money include GM supercharger, AGX struts and Pro-kit springs..etc.....I most likely will be studying abroad in Italy in 08, so the cav will be taking a nap on the driveway for a few months.

hey question did you install the exhaust kit yourself or did you take it to a shop, and if you did it yourself about how long did it take?
thanks

My sisters boyfriend's Dad owns a shop and used to work for chevy for 15 years. I took it to him to get installed but he was cool enough to let me watch it all get done and learn how it was done......the exhaust didnt take long at all.....hardest part is taking the old exhaust off in my opinion. If your old exhaust comes all off in on piece then its simply a matter of bolting the new vibrant on. Really great bolt on kit. The intake was the real bitch.....had to move the battery and stuff to get it to run into the fender. If you had someone helpin you with it, (and dont plan on welding anything on such as a resonator) the exhaust shouldnt take more than an hour or two.

BIG UPDATE!!!

So the other day while my dad was driving my sister's car, someone tapped it in the parking lot putting a small dent in the back bumper and cracking the tail light.

So one thing led to another and while we were at the body shop to get the cobalt fixed up, the guy gave me a great deal to fix the big ass scratches on the right side of my back bumper and the lower right side of my front bumper!

So I'm dropping the car off tomorrow...I'll get some b4 and after pics posted.
